Ernest “Ernie” Procaccini, Jr. age 82 of Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton and W. Yarmouth, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 on his 59th wedding anniversary. He was the loving and devoted husband of Barbara L. (Leggett) Procaccini. Ernie was born and raised in Brockton, a son of the late Ernest and Santina (Ferrara) Procaccini and was a 1952 graduate of Brockton High School. During the Korean War he served in the US Army. He retired as the maintenance manager at the Brockton Waste Water Treatment Plant. He was a long time member of the IBEW Local 223. Ernie enjoyed golf, bocci, traveling, reading and playing cards with his friends. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was the father of Michael Procaccini and his wife Mary, Tina King and her husband Gary, Catherine Fitzmaurice and her husband Paul, Maryanne McLaughlin and her husband John, and the late James Procaccini and his surviving wife Christine. He leaves many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Netta Fogarty and the late Joseph and John Procaccini. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 4-8pm. A procession will gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 9am for a funeral Mass in St. Basil Chapel at Bridgewater State University, 122 Park Ave, Bridgewater at 10:30 am. Burial at a later date.
