Haverhill, MA – formerly of West Bridgewater, MA and West Ossipee, NH Janet M. MacLean, 68, died peacefully, comforted by her children, on Friday June 20 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill following a courageous fight with cancer. She was the beloved wife for 45 years of the late Douglas A. MacLean; loving mother of Mark D. MacLean and Marci Ann Flaherty, and cherished grandmother of Dylan and Colin MacLean. Janet was raised in West Bridgewater by her late parents, Frank and Eutropya Sinkevich. She and Douglas raised their own family in West Bridgewater, and were residents of the town for 50 years. Janet was a homemaker and worked as a teller at Bridgewater Savings Bank for ten years. She enjoyed time spent with her family, particularly at the beach and while camping in NH. She was a talented sewer and also enjoyed quilting, gardening, and reading; she was an exceptional baker. Janet was also an avid sports fan, especially of the Red Sox, and exercised her competitive nature playing games of all types, cribbage in particular. She went on many flights with Doug in their small plane, flying out of Taunton, MA and Moultonborough, NH. Among her favorite destinations were the beaches of Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, and the Maine coast. In addition to her son and daughter and their families, Mark D. and Donna MacLean and their sons Dylan and Colin of Andover, and Marci Ann and Mark Flaherty of Groton, she leaves behind two sisters, Sheila and her husband Russell Johnson of Newburyport, MA, Carol and her husband Cliff Starr of Jacksonville, FL, and a brother, Edward and his wife Janet Sinkevich of Fall River, MA. She also leaves her sisters-in-law Dorothy Hunter, Alta Pratt, and the late Elsie Ashworth, her brother-in-law Allan MacLean, and their spouses, as well as many nieces and nephews. Janet will forever be remembered by those who loved her for her kindness and generosity. Her strength, resilience, and optimism were admired by all. She will join her husband in a private burial service at the New Hampshire Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. John D. McPartlin, 58, of East Bridgewater died on June 20 at Mass General Hospital in Boston, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Dorchester in 1955, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Gray) McPartlin. He was employed by State Street Corp. in Quincy for many years. He loved his work, spending time with his family, listening to his music collection, reading books about local and american history, and walking. He was the husband of Mary (Magnussen) McPartlin for 30 years, they lived in East Bridgewater for the past 21 years. John is survived by his children Caitlin, Meghan and Kevin McPartlin all of East Bridgewater, his sister Elizabeth Bigham of Halifax. He was the proud grandpa ‘Bumpy’ of Haylie McPartlin also of East Bridgewater. He leaves behind his cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, an uncle, many nieces and nephews, friends and coworkers. Martha J. (Farnham) Russell of West Bridgewater, died Monday June 30, 2014 surrounded by her family at her home. She was the loving wife of Kenneth C. Russell for 42 years. Martha was born in Brockton and raised in South Easton a daughter of the late Roy B. and Barbara (Packard) Farnham and had lived in West Bridgewater for the past 28 years. A graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational High School, Martha referred to herself as a “Domestic Goddess” and was devoted to her home and family. Martha was creatively talented and enjoyed painting, wood carving, quilting, knitting and sewing. Carpentry, gardening and making wedding cakes were also some of her favorite hobbies. She will be remembered as a resourceful, kind and compassionate lady who also displayed a humorous side. Her favorite saying was “Faith and laughter is the best medicine”. Martha was a very active member of the Union Congregational Church in East Bridgewater in their outreach and missionary programs. She was also a champion for animal rights. In addition to her husband, Martha is survived by her two loving daughters Lisa Kordonowy and her husband Stephan of Carson City, Nevada and Kerry Hallisey and her husband William of W. Bridgewater. She leaves 6 grandchildren Jacob, Liam and Lucas Kordonowy, Owen and Brooke Winkler and Gavin Hallisey. She was the sister of Susan Wallen of Anchorage, Alaska and Nancy Kelley and her husband Jim of Attleboro. She also leaves two sisters-in-law Elaine Johnson of Wareham and Janice Thomas of N. Valerie Wile Foster, 79, of East Bridgewater, died Thursday August 14. She was a devoted daughter, beloved wife, loving mother of 5, and “Gramma” to two generations of grandchildren. Valerie was the daughter of the late Marjorie Wile Richmond and the late Carlisle Wile. She was the wife of the late Donald Foster. Valerie made a career of caring for children from the age of 10 until well into her 70’s. She made volunteer work for various local charities her second job. An avid quilter, Saftler’s of Whitman was her second home. BERKLEY – Antonio S. Pereira of Berkley, husband of Maria S. (Chaves) Pereira, died unexpectedly at Morton Hospital on Aug. 25, 2014. He was 70 years old. Born in Santa Maria, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose and Maria Jesus (Moura) Sousa Pereira. Raised and educated in the Azores, and a veteran of the Portuguese Army, he moved to the U.S in 1968. Antonio lived in East Bridgewater and Bridgewater for many years prior to moving to Berkley 10 years ago. He was employed by the Brockton Sole and Plastics Company for thirty-four years. He most recently worked at Bridgewater State University, where he was employed for eleven years before retiring this past July. A communicant of St. Bernard Church in Assonet, Antonio was a past president and active member of the Bridgewater Portuguese Holy Ghost Society. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching football and was an avid Patriots fan. He also enjoyed his biannual trips to the Azores, working on his garden and making his lawn the best in the family. He most importantly enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his wife of 44 years, Antonio leaves a daughter, Linda Ficco and her husband Tim of Franklin; a sister, Maria Sousa and her husband Joao of East Bridgewater; his brother-in-law, Tony Chaves and his wife Jean of Assonet and Jose DeChaves and his wife Mary of Bridgewater; four nephews, Chris Chaves and Peter and John DeChaves and Joe Sousa; three nieces, Christina Riedl, Elena Pradith and Lisa Sousa; and many great nieces and great nephews. Born in Boston and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of Faye (Conway) Sprague of Bridgewater and the late Paul Sprague. Donna worked as a police matron for the town of Bridgewater and was a longtime employee of Shaw’s Supermarket in Easton. She was the mother of Cody and Kylee Piche, step-mother of Bradley Piche, Monique Godfrey and Brian Piche all of Brockton; sister of David Sprague and his wife Carolina of Rhode Island and Darci Sprague of Bridgewater. Josephine E. “Jo” (Cicone) DeGirolamo, age 96, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater, surrounded by her “girls” and her family, on September 16, 2014. She was married to the love of her life, the late Bernard E DeGirolamo for almost 50 years. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Innocensa (Mantello) Cicone. Jo was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1936, and attended each and every class reunion including the 72nd and final reunion held in 2008. For many years she had been employed in the garment industry as an inspector and shop steward. She had been a resident of Matfield Woods, West Bridgewater since 1991 before entering the Life Care Center. Jo was a superb baker and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends; well known for “grandma de’s cookies”. No matter how many times she shared her recipes they never quite tasted the same as when she made them. At 70 years old, Jo joined her sister, Elena, as a member of a bowling league. She also enjoyed bingo, both at Matfield Woods and at Life Care Center. Jo also enjoyed many Saturday nights, dancing with her husband Benny and friends. Jo is survived by two daughters Frances Johnson and her husband Philip and Bernardine “Bunnie” Quill all of Brockton; four grandchildren Marc Johnson and his wife Rebecca, Vincent Quill III and his wife Julie, Keri Clark and her husband Jason and Elizabeth Cerullo and her husband Steven; twelve great grandchildren, Leah, Matthew and Kyle Johnson; Victoria, Vincent IV, Jennah and Robert Quill; Ethan and Emmi Clark; and Andrew, Jonathan and Kathryn Cerullo; a sister Elena Niccoli of Brockton and many nieces and nephews, especially those who were the “love of her life”. Francis M. Boyle, 89 passed away on September 21, 2014, at Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the son of the late Hugh and Johanna Boyle and a Native of Brockton. He graduated from Brockton High School, class of 1943. Mr. Boyle attended Boston University, Amherst University and graduated from Mass. Radio School in Boston. He served in the United States Army at Fort Knox, KY. He married the late Mildred Norman of Randolph, MA and had one son, Kevin Norman Boyle. He entered the US Postal Service in 1959 and made it his career serving in many positions and he retired as Postmaster of Bryantville, MA. He married Virginia Norton of Foxborough, the widow of the late Leo Norton in 1988. The couple resided in Brockton, East Dennis, Oak Point in Middleboro and most recently at the Pond Home in Wrentham. They wintered for many years in Northport, FL. Mr. Boyle loved horses and at one time owned three of his own. His other passion was flying and he rebuilt a Schweitzer 233-A and flew it out of Cape Cod. He was a member of the Soaring Society of Cape Cod. He was a member of American Legion Post # 35 of Brockton for 61 years and served in the Color Guard for 25 years. He was a member of the Oak Point Veterans Association. He was a former member of the South Shore Voiture 693 of the 40/8. Mr. Boyle belonged to the National Association of Postal Supervisors and the National Association of Postmasters. He was a world traveler. He is survived by his beloved wife Virginia, his son Kevin, and his step children Joanne McLaughlin, Mary Peterson, Richard Norton, Clare McNamara and Donna Miller. He was the beloved grandfather of Meghan Boyle Enos, Shaina Boyle, Patrick and Timothy McLaughlin, Daniel, Sarah Kate and Jennifer Peterson, Marta, Louis and Sylvia Norton, Philip McNamara and Alicia, Matthew and Jeremy Miller. Marguerite M. (Rudolphi) Machado, wife of the late Joseph Machado, died at her Swansea home on Oct. 2, 2014. She was 87. Born in Bridgewater, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Emma (Carlotti) Rudolphi, she was raised in Bridgewater, and was a graduate of the former Bridgewater Academy. A retired book maker, she was employed by Rand McNally for many years. She had previously owned and operated the former Broadway Used Furniture Store with her late husband. Mrs. Machado enjoyed traveling, especially visiting Italy with her sisters. Her greatest joy was being with her family. Survivors include a son, Joseph “Pete” Machado of Taunton; four daughters, Mary Ann Johnson and her husband Jimmie of Bloomington, IN, Lori Desmarais and her husband David of Swansea, Lisa Dunlop of Taunton and Lynn McElroy and her husband Robert of Raynham; three sisters, Stella Wagner of Bridgewater, Alma Cordeiro of Raynham and Louise Hubacheck of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren; Dana Oxender, Christopher Johnson, Ryan, Michael, and Keri Machado, Jami and Lauren McElroy; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Antone D. Machado and the sister of the late Louis Rudolphi, and Elsa Horta. Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Oct. 7th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Beverly J. (Ostrander) Souza, 72, of Bridgewater died October 26, 2014 at McCarthy Care Center after a long illness. She was the wife of Robert A. Souza. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Floyd and Myrtle (Card) Ostrander, she lived in New Bedford, Dartmouth and Lakeville before moving to Bridgewater in 2007. Mrs. Souza was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Middleboro. She was formerly employed as a licensed practical nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital and several local nursing homes. Mrs. Souza enjoyed crafts. Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Souza; 2 brothers, Arthur Ostrander of Tampa, FL and Robert Ostrander of New Bedford; a sister, June Crowley of Dartmouth; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald Ostrander and Floyd Ostrander. Her funeral arrangements are private.

Veronica M. McGee, died Tuesday, October 28th at the Forest View Nursing Home in Wareham after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas L. McGee. Born in Brockton, daughter of the late Joseph A. and Elizabeth A. (Barron) Cook, she had been a resident of Brockton until moving to W. Wareham in 1978. She was a graduate of Brockton High School class of 1937 and later attended Brockton Business College. She had been a Dental Assistant to the late Richard Lagerstedt for many years. She retired from the East Bridgewater plant of The Foxboro Company in 1982. Veronica was a member of the Sippican Seniors of Marion and the AARP. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church in Wareham and while a resident of Brockton, of St. Edward’s Church (now St. Edith Stein). She is survived by two daughters, Pauline Weisensale of W. Wareham and Judith Coulstring of E. Bridgewater; three grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Irene Saulnier and Dorothy Reynolds. Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday November 6, 2014 from 10:30 to 11:30 am concluding with a funeral service. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.

Corine M. “Cricket” Kierstead age 50 of Brockton, died unexpectedly on Sunday November 2, 2014. She was the loving daughter of Jeffrey and Mary (Harrigan) Wood of E. Bridgewater. Corine was born in Boston and raised in Brockton and had attended Brockton Schools. She was a former manager at Ocean State Job Lot in East Bridgewater. Cricket enjoyed reading, making jewelry and shopping for bargains. She will be remembered for her humor and was always the life of the party. She enjoyed swimming at the YMCA, holidays with her family and was most proud of turning her life around. In addition to her parents she is survived by her fiancé Juan “Jose” Matias of Brockton. She was the sister of Debra Peluso, Margaret Boyd and Kim Gillen all of East Bridgewater and the late Robert Kierstead.
