Louis D. Romano, JR., 71, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Whitman, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday November 23rd. He was the beloved husband of Christa (Kollner) Romano. He was born in Brockton, son of the late Louis Romano Sr. and Doris (Bump) Romano. Louis grew up in Whitman and was a 1962 graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School. He worked for over 20 years for Whitman Tool + Die Corp. in Whitman, also Louis part owner of Romano’s Cucina in Whitman. He has been a resident of East Bridgewater since 1986. Louis served his country in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed his vacation home in Athens Maine, cooking, painting, wood working and being with his family. In addition to his wife Christa, he is survived by his seven children, Michael Romano of VA, Ronald Romano of TX, Christine Romano of Brockton, Richard Romano of ME, Doris Kaye and her husband Christopher, Lawrence Romano and his wife Michele all of East Bridgewater and Louis D Romano III of Whitman. His sisters, Marilyn McAuliffe of PA and Donna Govoni of ME: also 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Richard Romano. His funeral services will be held on Saturday November 29th at 10:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth ST. (Rt 58 @ the rotary circle) Whitman. Interment will follow in the Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visitation will be held on Friday November 28th from 2:00-6:00PM. Dorothy J. (Lane) Lamont, age 84 of Brockton, died Tuesday December 2, 2014 at West Acres Nursing Facility. She was the loving wife of the late Robert L. Lamont for 48 years. Dorothy was born and raised in Boston a daughter of the late Maxwell and Emma (Strickland) Lamont and was a 1948 graduate of Roxbury High School. For the past 12 years she had been a resident of East Bridgewater. Dorothy had worked as a financial clerk for General Electric in Westwood for 23 years. Following her retirement in in 1983, she moved to Apollo Beach, Florida where she and her husband were involved with property management. Dorothy loved camping and was a member of the South Shore Camping Club. She was an avid Bruins hockey and Revolution soccer fan. She always watched the televised games and attended many games at Gillette Stadium. Dorothy was a very loving and caring person who treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed visits with Cindy and Tim Beglane and their son Christopher, playing cards with Carol Lee and Ruthie and spending time with Bob and Sandy Grassick. Dorothy leaves her three children Cathy Duford and her husband Joseph of Brockton, Jeanne Culberhouse of Clayton, NC and Matthew Lamont of Rockland. She was also the grandmother of Thomas Duford and his wife Elizabeth of Chapel Hill, NC, Sarah Duford of Somerville, Jaclyn Becker of Clayton, NC, Brittany Lamont of Weymouth and Summer Lamont of Rockland. She was the great grandmother of Olivia and Benjamin Duford, Shane and Tyler Buss, Broden Hamilton, Stella Rose and Callie Waugh-Stewart and was the sister of the late Cecil, Gerald, Errol and Gordon Lane and Vera Kearns. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Saturday 9-11am with a Funeral Service at 11am. Burial will be at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

West Bridgewater – Ellen F. (Sawtelle) Grimmett 69 died surrounded by her loving family in her home on Thursday December 4. She was the beloved wife of James Grimmett. Born and raised in Boston she was the daughter of the late Simon and Ruth (Cunningham) Sawtelle and a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in the Dorchester section of Boston, Class of 1961. She had been a longtime resident of Weymouth before her move to West Bridgewater where she had resided for the past 15 years. She had worked for 14 years for the Boston Gas Company where she was one of the first of four women to become company “meter readers”. She later worked over 14 years as a unit coordinator for the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She loved gardening and creating floral arrangements, and enjoyed arts and crafts of all types, but her greatest joy came from the time spent with her family. In addition to her husband Jim she is survived by her children Paul Dunn and his wife Barbara of West Bridgewater, Gail Joyce and her husband Billie of Quincy and Patricia Cobb and her husband Wayne of West Bridgewater, her brother Robert Sawtelle of NH and her sisters Eleanor Costa of Swansea and Martha Scheffer of Shrewsbury. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Michael Wilson and James Grimmett. Her services will be held Wednesday December 10 at 8:00 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 AM in Saint Ann Church, West Bridgewater. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Visiting hour will be held Tuesday December 9 from 4:00-8:00 PM.

West Bridgewater – Mary C. (Wilmot) Harvey 93, died suddenly Tuesday December 9 in the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. She was the beloved wife of 66 years to James J. Harvey Born 1921 in Clinton, MA she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Mary (Madden) Wilmot. Mary loved to cook especially for the holidays, and generously crocheted hats for the patients of Dana Farber as well as other local organizations. She was an avid reader of crime novels, biographies and political novels and was a loyal fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. Mary continued all these activities up to and including the day the she passed away. She was the loving mother of Janice White and her husband Robert of East Bridgewater and Mary Jane Plouffe and her husband Paul of Trumbul, CT and sister of Helen Schelter. She was the grandmother of five and great grandmother of three. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Wilmot and Bernard Schelter. Her services will be held Tuesday December 16 at 10:30 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 11 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 AM.

Lee F. Hill, age 72, of Taunton, formerly of Bridgewater and Easton, died December 12, 2014, at Forestview Nursing Home, Wareham following a period of failing health. He was the husband for 47 years of Jean E. (Carlson) Hill, and son of the late Earl F. and Mildred E. (Ely) Hill. Lee was raised in North Easton and was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School and attended Bentley College of Accounting. He was a hard worker and was known for his strong work ethic and work history. For over 20 years he had been employed by Corcoran Supply Company. A longtime member of the Revelers Hot Rod Club, he also enjoyed camping, and traveling to Agricultural Fairs. In addition to his wife Jean, he is survived by a son Peter A. Hill and his fiancé Susan M. Bosco of Brockton, a daughter Katharine McGann and her husband Matthew of Taunton, two brothers Edward and David Hill. He was the father of the late Matthew P. Hill. Private family services were held in the Conley Funeral Home, followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery, East Bridgewater.

Mr. Robert W. Fuller, Sr., of East Bridgewater, died Sunday, December 14 in the Sachem Health and Rehab Center, East Bridgewater, following a lengthy illness. He was born 62 years ago in Middleboro, the son of the late Rupert W. and Christine (Cirello) Fuller. He was educated in Middleboro and had been an East Bridgewater resident for the past 4 years. Prior to his retirement, Robert had been employed by a local textile manufacturing firm in Brockton. He enjoyed trout fishing, camping, fish taxidermy, reading the Hobbit Trilogy, and listening to rock and roll music, especially John Lennon and the Beatles. He leaves: 2 sons: Robert W. Fuller, Jr. of Woonsocket, R.I., and Dwayne S. Fuller of Blackstone, Ma.; his companion, Rosemary Bean of E.Bridgewater; 5 grandchildren and several cousins. Mildred F. “Millie” (Mannix) Brophy, age 71 of West Bridgewater, died at her home on Sunday December 14, 2014. She was the wife of Kevin F. Brophy. Millie was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late William and Mary (Frazier) Mannix. She lived most of her life in the city and had lived in West Bridgewater for the past 15 years. A graduate of Brockton High School, Millie was an administrative assistant in several local businesses including Franklin Sports, Roman Art, Abel Products in Stoughton and Staples in Canton. Millie enjoyed collecting and displaying Snow Babies in her curio cabinet, walking, trips to the Plymouth waterfront and eating out at the Olive Garden with her family. She also had a passion for the Red Sox and Patriots. Millie especially enjoyed baking, cooking and spending the holidays with her family. In addition to her husband, Millie is survived by her three children Pamela Kotowski and her husband Stephen of Plymouth, Debbie Stone of Buzzards Bay and Donnie Stone and his wife Allison of Pembroke. She leaves three grandchildren Brittany, Lauren and Christian Stone. She was the sister of Kathryn Wilbur of Brockton, Betty Francey of Texas and Shirley Reid of Brockton. Marlborough “Mal” Francis Williams 88, of Taunton formerly of Brockton and W. Bridgewater, died December 25, 2014 at Life Care Center of Raynham. He was the husband for 62 years to the late H. Marie “Honey” (Belcher) Williams. Mal was born to the late Alden and Harriet (Hall) Williams in Boston. He was raised in Brockton and graduated Brockton High School class of 1944. Following graduation he entered the Merchant Marines and spent the next three years sailing convoys searching mined areas where he earned both the Pacific and Atlantic war zone bars. Mal attended the Boston Art School while working for the Plourde Display Company; he later passed the civil service exam and went to work for the Brockton School Department for over 40 years. He loved golf and drawing and had a true talent for landscape design. Mal enjoyed following politics; and for many years was the stage manager for the Follies a theater group at Matfield Woods in W. Bridgewater. He will be remembered as a loving devoted husband, father and grandfather who experienced no better joy than seeing his family happy. Mal is survived by his children; Kimberly Houghton and her husband Richard of Swansea, Brian F. Williams of Dedham and Cheryl A. Aldridge of W. Bridgewater; his brother Alden Thayer Williams of Hanover; his grandchildren Mark and his beloved wife Dawn with whom he and his wife made their home for several years, Scott and Erik Famularo, Justin, Michael and Nicholas Rauer , Matthew Lander, Michael Houghton and his great grandchildren Tanya, Meaghan and Adam Famularo, Jordon Lander and Kennedy and Dylan Rauer . Born in Brockton and raised in West Bridgewater, Jesse was a graduate of West Bridgewater High School. Jesse was always the life of the party and he lived his life to the fullest. He loved traveling; having gone from the East Coast, to Canada, and his favorite: Hawaii. Jesse will be remembered for his adventurous ways, his supportive and friendly demeanor and most of all, his positive attitude. TAUNTON – Daniel David Molinario, son of Ann R. (Keegan) Molinario of West Bridgewater and the late Ralph J. Molinario, died at Brigham & Women’s Hospital on Jan. 5th, 2015, following injuries sustained in a recent fire in his Taunton home. He was 48. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, he was currently employed as a spray painter by Brockton’s S.I.E. Computing Solutions, where he worked for many years. In addition to his mother, he leave three brothers; Ralph S. Molinario and his wife Susan of Vermont, Michael A. Molinario and his wife Florence of Easton, and Timothy S. Molinario of West Bridgewater; a sister, Mary E. Vacca and her husband John of Florida; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway at St. Mary’s Square, Taunton on Saturday, January 10th at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Bridgewater – Robert W. “Bob” Corthell, Jr, 92 of Bridgewater, formerly of Whitman, passed away Friday January 9 at Life Care Center of Raynham, following a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Frances (Pietrowski) for 64 years. Born, raised and educated in Whitman he was the son of the late Robert and Margaret (Hayes) and a graduate of Whitman High School, Class of 1941. Upon graduation he joined the Merchant Marines, and then enlisted in the US Army serving his country during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign mainly on the islands of New Guinea, Bora Bora and the Philippines from 1942-1946. He then worked as a sponge diver in Tarpon Springs, FL before launching his career as an iron worker. He worked in New Jersey, Iceland and New England on projects including the Tobin Bridge and the John Hancock Tower. He was proud to be a member of Iron Workers Union, Local #7. In his retirement, Bob enjoyed reading about current events, researching his interests on his home computer, working with stained glass and “tinkering” in his basement workshop. But his greatest joy was spending time with his 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife Frances he is survived by his 5 children Michael Corthell and wife Mary, Colleen Mills and husband John, Jane Kilfoyle, Robert Corthell and wife MaryAnn, and Elizabeth Putnam and husband Matthew. He was predeceased by his daughter Roseanne, his brother Richard and his sisters Alberta Asack, Barbara Lounge and Mary Benson. He also leaves behind grandchildren; Matt Corthell and Ginger, Dan Corthell and Tara, Adam Corthell, Kaitlyn Corthell, Shaun Kilfoyle and Danielle, Michael Kilfoyle, Eva and Ethan Putnam, Kaia Corthell and Jason Mills and Anna, as well as great grandchildren Teagan and Gavin Corthell and Alexis and Max Mills, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tuesday January 13 at 9:45 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Charles F. O’Connor Jr., age 59 of Bridgewater formerly of Pelham, NH and a longtime Medford resident passed away January 12th, at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston following a lengthy illness. He was the cherished son of Charles F. and Elizabeth (Lane) O’Connor of Bridgewater.

Chuck, as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, was raised and educated in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. He worked for a several years as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service and in more recent years he worked as a truck driver and also in management with the Middlesex Paving Company. Chuck was an avid NASCAR fan and was also a big fan of all the Boston teams.

In addition to his parents, Chuck is survived by his loving children, Michele Straitiff of Pepperell, Shanon O’Connor and Charles “C.J.” O’Connor, both of Bridgewater. He was the loving grandfather of Shaunessy and Scarlett Straitiff. devoted brother of Paul and his wife MaryJo of Bellingham, Richard and his wife Kim of Mashpee, Peter and his wife Susan of Peabody, Christine Joy and her husband Peter of Bridgewater, David and his wife Sharon of Bridgewater, Brian and his wife Sheri of Wilmington, Thomas and his wife Carri of Avon. Chuck was the beloved fiancé of the late Diane Ninteau and stepfather of the late Patrick Ryan. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Friday, January 16th, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8 p.m. Interment services will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Chuck’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.

Robert E. Lee, 61, of East Bridgewater, MA formally of Berkley and Avon MA, succumbed to cancer at his home surrounded by his family on January 14, 2015. Bob is survived by his wife Carey (Russell) Lee of 38 years, daughter Shannon Krappé and husband Matthew Krappé, son Patrick Lee and wife Jessica Lee, grandsons Brayden and Andrew Krappé, parents Joseph and Lorraine Lee, sisters Ellen Perrotta, Debbie Flanigan, Mary Raynard and Laurie Hull, brothers Paul Lee and Brian Lee many nieces, nephews and extended family. Bob was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. Shortly out of high school Bob worked as a police officer at Avon Police Department and later worked as a Computer Equipment Sales Rep for 30 years until he was forced to give up the career he loved due to his illness. He enjoyed watching Boston sports and was an avid golfer on the weekends. He enjoyed listening to classic rock, watching and playing with his grandsons and spending time with friends and loved ones. Bob was always there to help friends, took a large interest in his children and grandchildren’s extracurricular activities and spent hours weekly at Rockland golf course where he was a member for over 30 years. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, on Friday January 16th. A Memorial Service for Bob will also be in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel on January 17th at 11 AM. James J. Prendergast age 93, of Brockton died January 18, 2015 at Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Agnes E. (Millay)(Spadea) Prendergast and the late Virginia (Macaulay) Prendergast. Jim was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late James J. and Delia (Dillon) Prendergast and lived in the city for most of his life. Jim was a 1940 graduate of Brockton High School and served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He had been a letter carrier for the Brockton Post Office for many years and retired in 1988. In his retirement, Jim was a volunteer at the Brockton Hospital where he was once selected as Volunteer of the Year. He loved to dance and was also a talented trombone player who played in high school and the senior orchestra at Massasoit Community College. Most recently, Jim attended the Brockton Adult Day Care Center in Brockton. He will be remembered as a generous, easy going, and gentle man. In addition to his wife Agnes, Jim is survived by a daughter Judy Fishman and her husband Steve of Brockton and was the step-father of Sandra Good and her husband Jack of Bridgewater, William Jones and his wife Donna of W. Bridgewater, Janet Doran and her husband Steve of S. Carolina, Paula Martin and her husband Jeff of Brockton, Allyson Johnson and her husband Steve of Raynham, and the late Richard Jones and his widow Jean of Marshfield. He was the brother of Rita McMahon of Brockton and the late Anne Prendergast, Margaret Danielczyck and Therese Smolin. He also leaves 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Wednesday 3-6 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 8 am for a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 9 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery.

Bob was born and raised in Brockton, a son of the late Gregory and Helen (Doherty) Noonan and had been a resident of Arizona for many years. An Army veteran, Bob had been a custodian in the Wickenburgh school system. Bob was the brother of Dorothy Morton of Bridgewater, Lawrence Noonan of West Bridgewater, Kathleen Schultz of Arizona and the late Raymond, Richard, Joseph, Edward and Roger Noonan and Linda Scully. Private burial will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday 4-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Saturday at 9:30 for a funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, West Bridgewater at 10:30am. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland. Madan and her husband Michael of Stoughton, Chrisie A. Fallon of Maynard, and Robin M. Chichester and her husband Kirk of Bridgewater. Sister of Joseph DiAngelo of PA and Patrick DiAngelo of MA. William E. “Bill” Beyer, a renowned New England watercolorist, died January 31, 2015 peacefully at the age of 85 after a lengthy illness. Bill was born and raised in Worcester and graduated from Pratt Institute in New York with a degree in Graphic Design. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as an illustrator of field artillery books. In 1950, he founded the William E. Beyer Associates advertising agency on Newbury Street in Boston, which for 27 years serviced large national companies including John Hancock and Polaroid and local companies such as Weekly Reader, Boston Bruins, and Shopper’s World. In the 1980s, his company merged with Dickinson Direct Mail and he later joined Hub Mail as vice president of Advertising. During this time, Bill fell in love with the pure fine art of watercolor and began painting. He opened a gallery in Quincy’s Marina Bay and built a watercolor business capturing people’s memories in portraits of homes, boats, and families In addition to the personal memories he created for his gallery clients, Bill’s art will live on in his public work. In 1996, he founded the Marina Bay Arts Affair, which showcases artists’ work from 17 art associations throughout Greater Boston. In addition, Bill created many unique watercolor collage works that celebrated community landmarks and captured the essence of several local cities and towns. His signed and numbered prints raised valuable funds for each community, including “The City of Champions” painting that is still displayed in many buildings throughout Brockton. Bill received many local and national awards for his watercolor creations and was the featured artist for the “Tall Ships of Boston 2000” celebration and the Kentucky Derby “2001 Run for The Roses.” His work has been exhibited at the Copley Society in Boston, the Small, Small World Gallery in Rockport, the Todd Gallery in Wellesley and the Gourmet Café on Main Street in Brockton. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Milton Art Museum. Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janice (Furber) Beyer, and his children, William D. Beyer of Reston, VA and Laurel J. Beyer (Sibert) of Bridgewater, MA as well as his four grandchildren; Bucky and Penny Beyer and Trey and Cam Sibert. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 4:00-7:00pm followed by a short celebration and prayer service at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street(rte. 123) in Brockton. In lieu of flowers and donations, Bill’s family would appreciate visits from friends to Janice at Baypointe Nursing Home, 50 Christy Place in Brockton.

East Bridgewater – Nellie E. (Hogg) Coots 92, a longtime resident of East Bridgewater, passed away Thursday February 12 surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to the late Frederick J. Coots, Jr. A very devoted couple, Nellie and Fred had enjoyed traveling with their friends. Born and raised in Whitman, one of nine children, she was the daughter of the late William and Nelia (Paulson) Hogg, the founders of Peaceful Meadows Farm, and a graduate of Whitman High School. Nellie had founded the East Bridgewater Co-operative Kindergarten and Nursery School, where she taught for many years, retiring in 1984. She was also a familiar face to many working alongside her sisters in the dairy store at Peaceful Meadows of Whitman. She was an active member of the Congregational Church of Whitman, and the American Legion Auxiliary loved music of all kinds and had enjoyed playing her accordion but her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved husband and her large family. She is survived by her five sons; Frederick J. Coots, III of Whitman, William P. Coots, of Stoughton, James M. Coots, David A. Coots and Paul E. Coots all of East Bridgewater, and her sister Mary Corthell. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William, James and Frances Hogg and Wilma Vernon, Betty Woodard, Amy Brown and Isabel Hogg. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday February 18 at 4:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 1:00-4:00 PM. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Bridgewater – Howard E. Lincoln, Sr. 92, formerly a longtime resident of Whitman, died peacefully Thursday February 19 after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Edith V. (D’Arpino) Lincoln. Born and raised in Whitman he was the son of the late Cyrus and Elizabeth (Dickie) Lincoln and a graduate of Whitman High School, Class of 1940. His services will be held Tuesday February 24 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will be at a later date in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Monday February 23 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
