Laurie A. Pigeon age 50 of Brockton, died suddenly on Wednesday August 22, 2012. She was born in Brockton and was the devoted daughter of Irene H. (Carlson) Pigeon of Brockton and the late Edgar J. Pigeon. A 1979 graduate of Brockton High School, Laurie had worked for the US Postal Service on Liberty Street since 1984 and had been very active in the APWU South Shore Area Local.
Laurie was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and loved to travel, especially trips to Florida. She also enjoyed time at the family cottage at Parkwood Beach in Wareham. Laurie will always be remembered as a generous and giving person who cherished her time with her family.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her sisters and brothers Nancy Cohen and her husband Eric of E. Bridgewater, Donna Pigeon of Brockton, Kenneth Pigeon and his wife Linda of Richford, VT, Steven Pigeon and his wife Sandra of Norton and Mark Pigeon and his wife Lorraine of Canton. She was the loving aunt “Tee” of Daniel and Jason Cohen, Brian, Michael, Mathew, Jacqueline, Meaghan and Dale Pigeon and Rachel Russin. She also leaves her longtime companion Richard “Stoney” Stone of W. Bridgewater, her devoted cat Fluff and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 4-8 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at a time to be announced for a Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, W. Bridgewater followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
